Talladega Race Recap

Talladega, AL (May 5, 2012) - Talladega Superspeedway is known for high speeds, a rich history of Earnhardt racing and wrecks known as "the big one." The Aarons 312 race on May 5th had all of the above. Jeffrey and his uncle, Dale Jr. raced together for the second time this season and for multiple laps the #15 and #5 were trading places and maybe a little paint. Rain eliminated qualifying which meant Jeffrey's Fastwax-POYNT Ford Mustang started in the 43rd position but with aggressive drafting moves and creative partnering, the #15 quickly ran to the front of the pack. Running between 7th and 15th Jeffrey looked like he was on his way to a top 10 finish. But with just 3 laps to go "the big one" happened and Jeffrey's car was pushed towards the wall in a viscous crash that red flagged the race while driver Eric McClure was cut from his car and airlifted to an area hospital.

"We had a good run going today. The qualifying rainout started us last but we made good moves on the track & pits and I think we got up to 7th. The #99 worked with us and it was just a matter of finding a partner and working our way up to the front. Unfortunately we got caught by that wreck at the end of the race. I'm glad Eric is ok and we're looking forward to the next speedway race in Daytona in July" said Jeffrey.

Jeffrey Completes Barber Challenge

31 March 2012 – In just his 2nd Grand-Am race of the season, Jeffrey got a taste for one of the more challenging road courses in America. Barber’s changing elevations and hairpin turns gave Earnhardt a full dose of Grand-Am racing. “That wasn’t the finish we were shooting for but the experience was valuable” said Jeffrey.

“We had some penalties that set us back but in the big scheme of things we learned a lot. This is a work in progress. The car is custom built. It’s still kind of new to me and each race we learn about areas for improvement. Chris Cook is one of the best in the business and he’s giving me guidance on things that I can work on.” The colorful POYNT-FASTWAX.COM Mustang certainly caught the eye of media & fans and Jeffrey, Chris & team will do their best to take what they learned at Barber to improve their position at the Grand Prix of Miami on April 29th.

24 Hours of Daytona Recap

January 28, 2012- The 50th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona had all of the excitement one would expect during a golden anniversary event. The #15 Poynt/Fastwax.com Mustang packed the power necessary to compete with the best of the GT class but after several hours of competition a mechanical issue sent the team home early. After the race Jeffrey commented, “It was disappointing but there were a lot of bright spots during the laps completed. It’s a new car so you never know what might happen. I had some good laps and the rest of the team seemed to get a rhythm during their sessions. Rick (Rick Ware Racing) knows what needs to be adjusted and he began working on it the day it returned to the shop.”

The next Grand AM race is the PORSCHE 250 on March 31st at Barber Motorsports Park. The race will be televised on SPEED TV at 4pm and Jeffrey & team will be ready for competition!
